Vintage Bag Plaid Fabric with Leather Top Handles

Best guess era 1930-1950

One of my favorite pieces. It had damage since I got it many years ago. Unique
bag cannot be used as is, one handle is in two pieces, the piping is broken
with metal coil exposed. See photographs for problem areas.

Vintage top handle bag is fabric with leather handles, leather accents with
metal hardware. The outside plaid fabric is red, green, black and white. The
interior is a different plaid-colors of red, black and beige background.
Fantastic vintage piece. Luggage/suitcase construction shows quality
workmanship inside and out. The metal lock (HOMA brand) does not have a key.
Metal feet on bottom, reinforced metal piping (visible broken seams-see photo).

Because of the shape I believed it to be a vintage bowling bag. Though I don't
think the frame opens wide enough to place a heavy bowling ball inside, the
opening width is 9 inches. Whatever it was used for it is very stylish, plaid
is always on trend.
